What is a nucleus hive?
A nucleus hive (often called a nuc) is a small bee colony — the easiest and most reliable way to begin beekeeping. It gives you a working hive ready to expand from day one.
Our 5-frame nucleus hive includes
This season’s proven Queen
2 generous frames of brood
2 frames of resources - honey and pollen
1 mixed frame of brood, honey and pollen
An extra shake of bees
All of this results in a nuc that will be ready to expand into your new hive.
Before your nuc arrives- have these ready
A set up hive to receive the nuc
5 frames fully assembled with wax foundation
Bee suit and gloves
Smoker and hive tool
All of our nucleus hives are delivered in a corflute box, sealed for safe transport.
We can deliver up to 30km from Murwillumbah, Northern NSW. Additional travel outside of this region incurs a fee of $100 per hour.
Date and time to be arranged on confirmation of purchase.
