Always wanted to keep bees and not sure how to start?
This mini course is the perfect way to learn about what you need to keep bees in your backyard.
Join us for a three hour hands on workshop. We will cover a range of topics to help decide if beekeeping is right for you. The first part of the morning will be spent covering theory and Beekeeping principles. and then we will suit up and head into our demonstration apiary to get hands-on with the bees.
Morning tea, a jar of our raw honey and a wealth of knowledge is included.
The workshop will be held at a beautiful working Organic farm in the heart of the Tweed Valley.

Who is this workshop for?
Anyone who is interested in becoming a beekeeper or has been gifted a beehive and looking for some guidance on what to do next. Or you might just be interested in bees and want to know more about them and have a hands-on experience with bees.

Location
The workshop will take place at Summit Farmhouse. (Address will be provided with your booking confirmation).
Duration
The workshop starts at 9AM will go for approximately 3 hours. Please arrive 15 minutes early so we can get started on time. There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion at the end.
What to bring
Please wear closed shoes or boots. We will provide full length beekeeping suits and gloves so it is not necessary to wear long sleeve shirts and trousers.
Wet weather
In the event of rain, we will reschedule the workshop for a new suitable date or you can move into another date pending on availability.
